The Brighton Seahawks Junior Football Club is inviting boys and girls at Shorehaven to become a part of their growing football community. The Club offers both Auskick and Modified AFL, providing plenty of great opportunities for kids of all ages. Auskick is ideal for boys and girls aged 5 - 8 years (Pre-Primary to Year 3) wanting to develop their AFL skills, while modified AFL is for those aged 9 and above (Year 4 +).

Thousands celebrate Shorehaven display homes in style

Blue skies and sunshine provided the perfect backdrop for the 2,500 people who turned out in force to Peet’s Shorehaven Display Home Show in Alkimos on Sunday 28 August.

Shorehaven residents, homebuyers and hundreds of others from across Perth celebrated in style as the first homes at what will be the State’s largest display village centre were officially opened by Peet Limited Managing Director and CEO Brendan Gore and City of Wanneroo Deputy Mayor Tracey Roberts.

Guests enjoyed the festive atmosphere and spent the afternoon visiting the new display homes, indulging in gourmet cheese, beer and wine tastings and soaking up the sounds of Australian Idol contender Courtney Murphy and his band Murphy’s Lore.

MasterChef top-12 contestant, series 3 Rachel McSweeney tempted everyone with a sumptuous selection of culinary delights, including her famous chocolate brownies!

MC and popular Perth personality Tod Johnston kept the prize draws and entertainment moving while roving performers, bouncy castles, face painting, an animal farm, giveaways and live broadcasts from 92.9FM proved a hit with the kids – and mums and dads as well.

Shorehaven resident Will Cannon was among six lucky groups to win a very special prize just by visiting the homes on show: a spectacular helicopter ride over Shorehaven and the stunning Alkimos coastline all the way to Mindarie Marina.

“The helicopter experience was unbelievable, a once in a lifetime opportunity,” he said.

“My wife and I, and our daughters Molly and Charlie, were the first residents to move into the Rise precinct here at Shorehaven. We’re so glad we have a home here, it’s a beautiful community and events like this one are great family days.

“We were really impressed with all the display homes too.”

Other winners on the day received $500 Myer vouchers and a high-definition plasma TV courtesy of The Good Guys, Clarkson.

Peet welcomes new transport plans

Residents at Peet Limited's Shorehaven at Alkimos community and Peet's new community at Yanchep will be among those to benefit from expanded transport links detailed in the State Government's new Public Transport for Perth in 2031 plan.

Announced late last week, the plan outlines how the capacity and efficiency of Perth's public transport network will be increased through a series of projects, and identifies the extension of the northern rail line through to Yanchep as a key priority and a Stage One project.

Peet Limited Managing Director and CEO Brendan Gore said the commitment to the extended northern rail line was very welcome and would become an important transport option for residents of the northern corridor.

"Strategic planning of this kind of infrastructure provides developers with greater certainty as we establish new residential communities for Perth's expanding population.

"The northern rail line project will see residents of Shorehaven at Alkimos and our new Yanchep community enjoy their unique lifestyle in this coastal corridor while remaining well connected to the Perth CBD," said Mr Gore.

The plan provides for the extension of the rail line in less than 10 years and will support the establishment of the Yanchep City Centre with a station precinct at its centre. Further urban growth between Butler and Yanchep will lead to future development of stations, potentially at Alkimos and Eglinton.

Shorehaven at Alkimos is an ocean-inspired master-planned community situated approximately nine kilometres north of Mindarie. The community is made up of three precincts - Shorehaven Coast, Shorehaven Rise and Shorehaven Central - and will ultimately feature a range of shops, restaurants, cafés and community facilities in the future Coastal Village.

The population of the Alkimos-Eglinton region is expected to expand to more than 50,000 people over the next 20 years. Shorehaven at Alkimos has already welcomed its first residents and will ultimately be home to around 3,000 households.

The Yanchep-Two Rocks area is the largest single urban development area in Perth and, by 2058, is forecast to accommodate some 150,000 people.

A number of infrastructure projects and facilities are planned and underway in both the Alkimos-Eglinton and Yanchep-Two Rocks areas and the public transport announcement provides a missing link.

The State Government said it would commit $11 million in the 2012 State Budget to progress planning for the three priority projects, including the northern rail program.

The two other priority projects are the introduction of light rail and the development of bus rapid transit services.

The new public transport plan also forecasts projects for post-2031 which include the extension of the Armadale rail line to Mundijong (via Byford). This project will see two more Peet Limited communities benefit from improved public transport.

Shorehaven earns first water accreditation

Peet Limited’s Shorehaven community at Alkimos has become the first in WA to be accredited by the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) for water-sensitive design.

The Shorehaven community surpassed the UDIA’s target of a 40 percent saving on standard water consumption within a new residential community to earn the State’s first UDIA EnviroDevelopment accreditation in the water category.

The community has been master planned by Peet Limited with the coastal environment and water conservation principles as central to the development.

Among Shorehaven’s water-sensitive design features are the reuse of storm water on public open spaces, drought-resistant landscaping and rainwater tanks for all purchasers.

WA’s largest display village starts construction at Shorehaven

More than 20 builders have started work to create what will be Western Australia’s largest home display centre at Peet Limited’s Shorehaven community at Alkimos in Perth’s northern suburbs.

Inspired by the sweeping ocean views and undulating coastal environment of Shorehaven, located around nine kilometers north of Mindarie, the display village centre will offer WA’s latest and largest selection of modern homes from the State’s leading home builders.

The display centre will be spread across three precincts at Shorehaven – Coast, Rise and Central – with a total of 50 homes to eventually make up the collective display village centre.

The new homes in the first two display villages in Rise and Central precincts will open around mid-2011, with the spectacular Ocean View Display Village to follow toward the end of the year.

New neighbours meet for first festivities at Shorehaven

Around 150 soon-to-be residents have gathered to celebrate the festive season at one of the northern suburb’s newest communities – Shorehaven at Alkimos.

Many of the event-goers will start construction of their homes in the New Year and took the festive opportunity to meet their future neighbours and find out more about Peet’s plans for Shorehaven before they move in during 2011.

Blue skies and sunshine provided an ideal backdrop for hours of free entertainment and food organised by Peet, including a live band, summer barbeque, face painting, magician and visit from Santa.

City of Wanneroo councillors Laura Gray and Norm Hewer also attended to meet the new residents of Shorehaven.

More than 250 lots have been purchased at the Peet community since sales began in December 2009 and the estate will eventually be home to more than 3,000 households.

Yanchep Dolphins race ahead with Shorehaven support

More than 50 young athletes have been given a head-start to the 2011 season thanks to Peet Limited’s new community, Shorehaven at Alkimos.

As part of the Shorehaven Community Sponsorship Program, funding has been provided to the Yanchep Little Athletics Club to design and make new training and competition shirts, hats and singlets.

The club also revamped its logo to reflect the growth of the local sports club, which has been operating since 2003.

“Yanchep Little Athletics Club has been aiding the development of young athletes throughout the Yanchep-Two Rocks area for more than seven years and our club has grown considerably over that time,” said Yanchep Little Athletics President Corinne Parker.

“We greatly appreciate the generous support of Shorehaven at Alkimos, which will help our athletes at a practical level by providing much-needed competition gear, as well as providing assistance toward club development overall.”

Peet Limited Managing Director and CEO Brendan Gore said Peet was pleased to support Yanchep Little Athletics Club and the services it provides to the growing community of Yanchep, Alkimos and the surrounds.

Shorehaven at Alkimos has been proud to support the WA children's charity, Telethon, by hosting the 2010 Metropolitan Telethon Home.

Reduce recycle and WIN!

You can make your mark by organising a Friday File Fling at home or at the office,  joining in an Aussie Swap Party or by learning more about how to recycle right all year round. Stage Three offers views to the ocean at Shorehaven

Patience will soon be rewarded at Shorehaven at Alkimos, with 15 new homesites to be released on prime land on Saturday 14 August 2010.

The first land release in three months in Shorehaven Rise precinct, the elevated Stage Three lots are located on the coastal side of Marmion Avenue and offer views to the Indian Ocean.

Peet earns first water accreditation at Shorehaven

Peet Limited’s Shorehaven community at Alkimos has become the first in WA to be accredited by the Urban Development Institute of Australia (UDIA) for leading water-sensitive design.

The Shorehaven community surpassed the UDIA’s target of a 40 per cent saving on standard water consumption within a new residential community to earn the State’s first UDIA EnviroDevelopment accreditation in the water category.

Located around nine kilometres from Mindarie in Perth’s north, Shorehaven at Alkimos has been master planned by Peet Limited with the coastal environment and water conservation principles as central to the development.

Among Shorehaven’s water-sensitive design features are the reuse of storm water on public open spaces, drought-resistant landscaping and rainwater tanks for all purchasers.

Peet Limited Managing Director and CEO Brendan Gore said the UDIA accreditation recognised Peet’s forward-looking vision for Shorehaven.

“Shorehaven at Alkimos will use best practice water efficiency measures and achieve the UDIA’s EnviroDevelopment water conservation targets through a combination of water efficiency measures, underground water and rainwater harvesting,” Mr Gore said.

“Peet is pleased to have received the UDIA’s first water EnviroDevelopment accreditation in WA, which provides a very practical and useful way for homebuyers to recognise developments that both protect the environment and use resources responsibly.”

Shorehaven at Alkimos will offer sustainable, beach-inspired living for more than 3,000 households.  Homebuyers securing a new homesite at Shorehaven will join a sustainable community, designed with water conservation in mind.

All public spaces have been designed by Peet to maximise water efficiency and a range of the drought resistant plants from Perth’s coastal plain will be planted throughout the community.  Grassed areas will be kept to a minimum to reduce intensive watering, with hardy varieties to be used on sports ovals and recreation areas, and tall trees to be planted in those areas for shade.

New office opens for land release at Shorehaven

Peet Limited is launching the fourth land release in as many months at Shorehaven at Alkimos on Saturday 13 March and offering homebuyers the chance to secure a homesite direct from the new onsite sales office.

The new office on Marmion Avenue in Alkimos, approximately nine kilometers north of Mindarie, allows homebuyers to view the plans for Peet’s flagship coastal community from their potential new home at Shorehaven.

Strong demand for land at the beachside community has prompted Peet Limited to release a total of 23 lots in Stage Two of Shorehaven Central, situated east of Marmion Avenue.

Happy campers for new Shorehaven at Alkimos homesites

A line of happy campers have secured the first homesites at Peet Limited’s Shorehaven at Alkimos.

The first groups started arriving the day before sales at the new coastal community were launched at 9.00am on 5 December 2009.

By the time the doors opened, new neighbours had become new friends and secured all 10 lots available in the Central precinct and more than half those available in the Rise.

Shorehaven at Alkimos is the first residential community in a new coastal hub of Alkimos-Eglinton, which is expected to grow to the scale of Cottesloe or Scarborough and cater for more than 50,000 people in just over 20 years.

Treasurer launches Perth’s next coastal centre at Alkimos

Western Australian Treasurer, Troy Buswell, has launched Perth’s next major coastal centre by releasing the first land at Peet Limited’s new residential development at Alkimos.

Peet’s Alkimos development, located nine kilometres north of Mindarie in Perth’s northern coastal corridor, will be part of a new major activity centre on the scale of Cottesloe or Scarborough.

The Alkimos-Eglinton activity centre is expected to grow by more than 50,000 people in just over 20 years, with plans for a marina, shopping centres, up to 11 schools and more than 500 hectares of regional open space.

Peet’s Alkimos development is the first residential estate in the growth centre and will provide critical land for around 3,300 households, kick-starting employment and infrastructure development in the area.

The land is owned by Peet Alkimos Pty Ltd whose major shareholders include MTAA Super, the Myer Family Company and Peet Limited.

State Treasurer and Minister for Housing and Works Troy Buswell said Peet Limited’s Alkimos development would provide critical land supply in a future growth area of Perth.

“As we approach a new period of sustained economic growth, land supply and affordability will continue to be critical issues for the Liberal-National Government,” Mr Buswell said.

“The Government has delivered on its commitment to reform planning approvals and we are working with industry to encourage residential projects such as Peet’s development at Alkimos.

“This project highlights the Liberal-National Government’s commitment to supporting sustainable population growth as we prepare the State for renewed economic growth as major resource projects come on line and consumer confidence continues to grow.”

Developed on 243 hectares of prime coastal land, the Alkimos residential community – named Shorehaven at Alkimos – will be Peet Limited’s flagship community, demonstrating the very best in urban design and sustainability.

“Shorehaven at Alkimos will set high standards in terms of environmental management and sustainability, with native habitat preserved and key environmental and cultural features incorporated into our development vision,” said Peet Limited’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Brendan Gore.

“The community will maximise green energy and smart water. All homebuyers will receive a full sustainability package including water tanks to service their homes and waterwise front garden landscaping packages,” Mr Gore added.

“Peet will work with the community to promote a range of environmental initiatives and other community activities.”

Peet will also invest around half a billion dollars in the immediate area including roads, infrastructure, landscaping, environmental management and facilities to support the Shorehaven at Alkimos community.

Initial earthworks at Shorehaven at Alkimos commenced a short time ago following government approvals, with a special of first homesites now available.

A total of 20 lots are available in the Premiere Release, with 10 homesites in the Central Stage of the estate, which is east of Marmion Avenue, priced from $180,000 (average around $200,000) and 10 lots on the coastal side of the estate, in the Rise precinct, priced from $259,000 (average around $310,000).
