Shorehaven's First Residents

Peet welcomes first residents to Shorehaven!

When avid scuba diver Sue Bernard first explored the wreck of the Alkimos some years ago, she never imagined she would one day be living just a few kilometres away in Peet Limited’s new Shorehaven community!

Sue and her husband Oliver are among the first residents to move into Peet Limited’s new community of Shorehaven at Alkimos and City of Wanneroo Deputy Mayor Tracey Roberts was on hand to meet the couple at a special presentation in July 2011.

Shorehaven will be home to around 3,000 households and an estimated 50,000 people are expected to move to the Alkimos-Eglinton area over the next 20 years.

Deputy Mayor Tracey Roberts congratulated Sue and Oliver and was pleased to welcome them to Shorehaven, on behalf of the City of Wanneroo.

“The Alkimos-Eglinton area is expanding rapidly, and projects like Shorehaven are a key element of its growth. We are looking forward to seeing Shorehaven develop into a vibrant, sustainable and connected community that will provide an enjoyable lifestyle for residents” said Cr Roberts.

Peet Limited Managing Director and CEO Brendan Gore said the Bernards’ arrival was one of the most significant milestones in the growth of Shorehaven at Alkimos as a community.

“It is a real pleasure to welcome Sue and Oliver Bernard to Shorehaven,” Mr Gore said.

Mrs Bernard has lived in Mindarie for about 12 years, while husband Oliver is a fairly new arrival having immigrated to Australia after their UK wedding two years ago. The couple are active scuba divers, enthusiastic walkers and keen photographers, finding plenty to keep them busy in the developing northern corridor.

“When we started looking for a place to build our new home, we were keen to stay in the northern suburbs. We have a tight-knit circle of friends in the area and love the coast. It’s a great place to live,” said Mrs Bernard.
